Brief note, words in [ ] are indicative of explanation/meaning.  Words in ( ) indicate added in words to ‘improve’ the flow.   Words in bold are quotes from the Tanakh (in this translation, the quote is taken directly from the Hebrew rather than the Greek to highlight God’s name (the four letters a.k.a. tetragrammaton).  Words in Red are the words spoken by Yeshua.  A number of names are in Hebraic form as are place names.  This text uses both YHWH [the divine name] and Adon(ai) through this text depending on contextual usage.

Rabbinic translation and interpretation has been used in some places, notably Matthew ch.5 as a clear example.  This approach has been used, as this is how the scriptures would have been understood by the early listeners.

Please feel free to email comments or questions about the text to steven@cyberlizard.co.uk with a subject start CLT (CyberLizard Translation).

1. 1The record of the lineage of Yeshua [Jesus] the Messiah [Christ], the anointed one, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

2Abraham fathered Isaac; Isaac fathered Jacob; Jacob fathered Judah and his brothers;

3Judah and Tamar gave birth to Perez and Zerah; Perez fathered Hezron, Hezron fathered Aram;

4Ram fathered Aminadab, who fathered Nahshon, who fathered Salmon;

5Salmon and Rahab gave birth to Boaz. Boaz and Ruth gave birth to Obed; and Obed fathered Jesse.

6Jesse fathered David the King, and David fathered Solomon with her who had been Uriyah’s wife.

7Solomon fathered Rehoboam who fathered Abijah, who fathered Asaph.

8Asaph fathered Jehoshaphat; who fathered Joram; who fathered Uzziah.

9Uzziah fathered Jotham, who fathered Ahaz, who fathered Hezekiah.

10Hezekiah fathered Manasseh, who fathered Amos, who fathered Josiah.

11Josiah fathered Jeconiah and his brothers at around the time of the exile to Babylon.

12After being exiled into Babylon, Jeconiah fathered Salathiel, who fathered Zerubbabel.

13 Zerubbabel fathered Abiud, who fathered Eliakim, who fathered Azor.

14Azor fathered Zadok, who fathered Achim, who fathered Eliud.

15 Eliud fathered Eleazar, who fathered Mattan, who fathered Jacob .

16Jacob  fathered Yosef the husband of Miryam who gave birth to Yeshua, the one called Messiah.

17In all there were fourteen generations from Abraham to David, from David till the exile into Babylon, fourteen, and from the exile to the Messiah, fourteen generations.

18Of the birth of Yeshua the Messiah: Miryam [Mary], his mother was engaged to Yosef [Joseph].  Before they lived together, she was found to be pregnant by Ruach HaKodesh [Holy Spirit].  19Yosef her husband, being a righteous man and not willing to make a public example of her, resolved to divorce her quietly.  20He spent time pondering over these things and in a dream saw Adonai’s [the Lord] messenger [Angel] who said to him, Yosef, son of David, don't be afraid to accept Miryam as your wife, for her pregnancy is from Ruach HaKodesh.  21She shall give birth to a son and you shall name him Yeshua: He shall save his people from their sin.  22All of this has happened so that the declaration of YHWH [usually translated ‘the LORD’] through the prophet may be completed, saying, 23Look! The virgin shall be pregnant and she shall give birth to a son and they shall call his name Immanu'el which when translated means God with us.  24Yosef when roused from his sleep did as the messenger of Adonai told him, and he took the woman as his wife.  25He did not have an intimate [sexual] relationship with her until she had given birth to her son and gave him the name Yeshua.

2.1Yeshua was born in Beit-Lechem [Bethlehem] in Judah when Herod was ruling, when he (Herod) saw Magi [astronomical religious men] coming from the east into Yerushalayim [Jerusalem], 2saying, "Where is the one born King of the Jews.  We saw his star rising and we have come to kneel before him."  3On hearing this Herod and all Yerushalayim  were struck with fear and dread 4and he assembled all the priests and Torah [books of Moses] teachers, and asked them "Where will the Messiah be born?"  5They said to him, "in Beit-Lechem in Judah as it is written by the prophet, 6and you Beit-Lechem, [in the] land of Judah, are in no way least amongst the rulers of Judah, out of you shall come one who governs, who will shepherd my people, Israel"".  7Then Herod called the Magi secretly (to him) to thoroughly investigate the exact time of the appearance of the star.  8And sending them to Beit-Lechem he said "go and find out accurately about the infant, when you have found out, report back to me so that I also may come and bow down to him."

9When they had heard the king, they went and saw the star they had seen rising and (it) was in front of them until it was above where the infant was.  10On seeing the star they were tremendously happy and filled with joy.  11Coming into the house they saw the infant with Miryam his mother, and prostrating themselves, they bowed down before him and opened the treasures they brought to him, presents of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

12Being warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned (to their country) by another route.  13When they had left, a messenger of Adonai appeared in a dream to Yosef saying, "get ready, and take the infant and his mother and escape into Egypt and stay there until I tell you as Herod is seeking the infant to destroy it.”  14When he got up, he took the infant and mother in the night and left to go into Egypt 15and he stayed there until Herod died, so the declaration of YHWH through the prophet may be completed, saying out of Egypt I called my son.

16Then Herod understanding he had been outwitted by the Magi was furious and ordered the killing of all the boys in Beit-Lechem and the districts from two years and under, in line with the time given by the Magi.  17Then was completed the declaration of the prophet Yirmeyahu [Jeremiah] saying, 18Sound is heard in Ramah, lamentation and anguish, Rachel mourning for her children and she would not be consoled, because they are no more.

19When Herod had died, whilst (still) in Egypt Yosef saw a messenger of Adonai appear in a dream, 20saying "get up and take the infant and his mother and go into the land of Israel, the one's seeking the life of the infant have died." 21So he got up and took the infant and mother and entered into the land of Israel.

22Hearing that Archelaus was reigning in Judah in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there.  Being warned in a dream he left to go into an area of Galil [small area on north east coast of Lake Kinneret, sea of Galilee].  23He came to live in the city called Natzeret [Nazareth] so that it may be fulfilled, that declared through the Prophets that he shall be called a Nazarene.

3.1In those days, Yochanan [John] the immerser [baptiser] came along proclaiming and preaching in the desert areas of Judah, 2saying, "turn around and change your ways, for the kingdom of heaven is close to hand." 3For this is what was being declared through the prophet Yeshayahu [Isaiah] saying the voice of one crying out: in the desert prepare the way of YHWH, make his path straight

4Yochanan had clothing of camel hair and a hollow leather money belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.

5Out from Yerushalayim and Judah and all around the Jordan, they went out to him 6and they were immersed [baptised] in the Jordan River by him, confessing their sins.  7Seeing many of the Pharisees [radical religious group] and Sadducees [religious group affiliated to the priesthood] coming to his immersion, he said to them, generation of cunning, malignant and wicked men, who warned you to escape from the anger to come: 8bear fruit worthy of having turned your lives around – [repent - that is returned to where you should be and having made amends] 9and do not think to say amongst yourselves, we have Abraham as our father.  I say to you that God is able out of these stones to raise up children for Abraham. 10The axe is already near the root of the trees.  Every tree then not bearing good fruit is cut down and thrown onto the fire.  11I indeed wash you in water for having turned away from your wrongdoing. The one coming after me is stronger than me, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry.  He will be immersing you in Ruach HaKodesh and fire.  12His winnowing shovel is in his hand and he will thoroughly cleanse the threshing floor and will gather his grain into the barn, but the chaff and leftovers will be burned in a fire which is unquenchable.

13Then Yeshua came along from the Galil region to the Jordan towards Yochanan, to be immersed by him.  14But Yochanan stopped him, saying I need to be immersed by you, and you come to me.  15Yet Yeshua answered him and said to him; allow it to happen, for it is appropriate that we complete (fulfil) all that is right.  Then he allowed him.

16Being immersed, Yeshua immediately stood up from the water and saw the heavens open up and he perceived Ruach Elohim [Spirit of God] descend like a dove and rest on him 17and suddenly their was a sound of the voice from above, saying, this is my son, the one I love, in whom I am very pleased.

4.1Then Yeshua departed, led by the spirit into the desolate wilderness to be tested by the adversary.  2When he had fasted for forty days and nights he was pining for food 3and the tempter approached and said to him, If you are the Son of God, tell the stones to become loaves of bread.  4Answering he said, The Tanakh says, not on bread alone will man live, but on every declaration that comes from the mouth of YHWH.

5The adversary then took him into the holy city and stood him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6and he said to him, if you are the son of God, leap off, for the Tanakh says His angels shall be directed around you and on (their) hands they shall lift you up, in case you stub your foot against a stone.  7Yeshua again declared to him, the Tanakh states you shall not put YHWH your God's character and power to the test.

8Again the adversary took him to the highest mountain and showed to him all the kingdoms of this world and their glory; 9and he said to him, To you, all these things I will give to you if you lower yourself and bow down before me.  10Then Yeshua said to him, Satan, be gone with you, for the Tanakh says, you will bow down before YHWH your God and only to Him shall you offer your divine service.  11Then the tempter left him, and suddenly angelic messengers approached, ministering and serving to his needs.

12Hearing that Yochanan was betrayed into prison, he left and went into Galil; 13on leaving Natzeret he came to live in K’far-Nachum [Capernaum] by the sea on the borders of Zebulon and Naphtali 14so that the words uttered by Yeshayahu the prophet may be fulfilled, saying, 15land of Zebulon and land of Naphtali, by the path of the sea, on the other side  of the Jordan , Galil of the Gentiles; 16The people sitting in darkness and ignorance have seen a great light, and the ones sitting in the shadow of death, to them, light has dawned.

17From then, Yeshua began his proclamation, saying, return to where you should be, make amends and turn away from your sin, for the authority of the kingdom of heaven has come near to you.

18Whilst walking beside Lake Kinneret , he saw two brothers, Sh’mon (Simon) who was called Kefa [Peter] and Andrew, who were casting their nets into the sea, for they were fishermen 19and he said to them, come here and follow me and I shall make you fishers of people.  20Immediately they left the nets and began to follow him.  21After going a little further, he looked and saw some others, two brothers, Ya'akov [James] and his brother Yochanan, sons of Zebedee in the boat with their father, adjusting and restoring their nets and he called them.  22They immediately left the boat and their father and followed him.

23He went throughout the whole region of Galil, teaching in the congregations of the people and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, healing all sicknesses, diseases and types of weakness amongst the people.  24His fame went throughout all Syria and they brought to him all the sick with various diseases and torments, those being demonised and those who were mentally ill and the paralysed and he restored them (to health).  25Vast numbers of people followed him, many from Galil and the ten cities [that is the Decapolis area], from Yerushalayim and Judah and from the other side of the Jordan.

5.1When he saw the vast numbers of people he went up the hillside and sat down and his apprentices came to him: 2and he opened his mouth and taught them, saying,

3blessed (now and more blessed in the future*) are those who are poor in spirit, the kingdom of heaven is theirs.

4blessed* are those who lament and mourn, they will be comforted.

5blessed* are those who are gentle and meek, they will inherit the land.

6blessed* are those who are hungering and thirsting for righteousness, they will receive satisfaction.

7blessed* are those who show mercy for they will receive mercy.

8blessed* are those who are clean and pure hearted, they will see God.

9blessed* are those who make peace, they will be called sons of God.

10blessed* are those who have been persecuted and mistreated on account of doing what is right, the kingdom of heaven is for them.

11 you will be happy when they revile you and persecute and mistreat you, and say all kind of lying wickedness about you because of me.

12Be happy and full of strength [joy], your payment in heaven is great: They persecuted and mistreated the prophets before you.

13You are the salt of the land, but should the salt ever lose its saltiness how can it be made salty again.  It is good for nothing except to be thrown out under people's feet. 14You are the light of the world.  A city on a hillside cannot be hidden.  15Neither do people light candles and place them under a jug, but they place them on a candlestick, and it shines its light to all in the house.  16Therefore let your light shine in front of you so that people may see it and see your good deeds and give honour to your Father in heaven.

17Do not suppose and infer that I have come to overthrow by poor exposition the Torah or the Prophets.  I have not come to overthrow them by misinterpreting them but to completely explain them, bringing  them to their realisation.  18Truly, I say to you, heaven and earth will not pass away, and not one yud or stroke to a letter will disappear from the Torah until everything has been completed.  19If someone annuls even one of the lesser commands and teaches other people to do the same, they shall be called the lowest in the kingdom of heaven, but who ever should carry out them and teach others to do the same, this person shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.  20I say to you, unless your righteousness is better than that of the Torah teachers and Pharisees, you shall not enter into the dominion and kingdom of heaven.

21You heard it declared to the people of old that you shall not murder and whoever murders shall be subject to judgement.  22But I say to you that everyone being angry with his own people shall be liable to be judged.  Anyone who says to his fellow man, 'raca' which means good for nothing shall be brought to the council of the Sanhedrin, yet whoever says ‘fool’ shall be in danger of the fires of Gey-Hinnom [Hell].  23So if you ever come to bring an offering, a gift of sacrifice to the altar and whilst there you remember that one of your people has something against you; 24leave your offering of sacrifice there in front of the altar and go and renew your friendship and then offer your gift.  25Agree quickly with your opponent while you are on your way with him, in case your opponent hands you over to the judge, and he to the deputy who will throw you into prison.  26I tell you the truth, you shall not come out of there until you have paid the last quadran [very, very small amount].

27You have heard it said that you shall not commit adultery.  28But I say to you, that every one looking at a woman to lust after her for his own has already committed adultery with her in his heart.  29If your right eye is enticing you to sin rip it out and throw it away, for it is better for you that it should be lost than for your body to be thrown into Gey-Hinnom, 30and if your right hand leads you into sin cut it off and throw it away.  It is better for you to have lost the limb than for your whole body to be cast into Gey-Hinnom.

31It was said that whoever should dismiss his wife should give to her a get. [letter of divorce]   32But this is what I say to you.  Every one who divorces his wife for any reason apart from sexual actions outside of the marriage causes her to commit adultery and whoever marries her commits adultery also.

33Again, you have heard it said to those of old, you shall not break an oath and fulfil what you have sworn to YHWH.  34I say to you, do not make an oath on either heaven where the throne of God is.  35Neither by the land for that is His foot stool; neither by Yerushalayim as that is the city of the great King.  36Neither swear by the hair on your head as you are not able to make one hair change white to black.  37Let the word you say be definitely yes or no; anything more is from the evil one.

38You heard it said, eye for eye and tooth for tooth:  39But I say to you, do not resist (an) evil (person), anyone who slaps your right cheek, turn him the other as well.  40And if any one wants to sue you and take your tunic let him have the outer garment also.  41If a (Roman) soldier forces you to go a thousand paces, go with him two.  42To the person that asks something of you and wishes to borrow something do not turn them away.

43You heard it said, you shall love your neighbour and you shall hate your enemy.  44But I say to you entertain and welcome your enemies and be praying for those who persecute you; 45So that you may become sons of the Father in heaven.  He makes the sun rise on the evil and good natured, on those who do right and those that do wrong.  46If you only love those who love you, what’s the payback for that! Even the tax collector does that!  47And if you only love your own people are you any better than others.  Even the Gentiles do that!  48Then you shall be lacking nothing, as your heavenly father is lacking nothing.

6.1Be careful that your acts of righteousness are not done in front of people to be seen by them, otherwise you will have no payment from your Father in heaven.  2Whenever you do your giving to the needy, do not blow your own trumpet like the hypocrites in the congregations and street corners, so that they should get a pat on the back by other people.  Surely I say to you they have the payment for their actions.  3But when you do your acts of righteousness, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.  4So that your acts of righteousness are secret and your Father who sees the secret things shall give you your pay.

5Whenever you are praying, do not be like those who behave like actors, those who love to be seen in the congregation by people.  Surely I say to you they have their payment in full.   6You, when you are praying, go into the store room and lock the door.  Pray to your Father in secret and your Father who sees in the secret place shall give you your pay.  7When praying, do not be repetitive, using idle words like Gentiles, who suppose that they will be heard because of their many words.  8Don’t be like them! Your Father understands the things you need before you ask him.

9Pray like this:

Our Father in heaven let your name be set apart and holy.

10Let your kingdom come.  Let your desires come to be, as in heaven, so on earth.

11Each day give us bread, the food we need.

12Forgive us our wrongdoing as we forgive the people who act wrongly against us.

13And do not bring us to testing times, but rescue us from the tempter.

14For if you ever forgive people their offences, your heavenly Father shall also forgive you.  15But if you don’t forgive people, your Father won’t be forgiving towards you.

16Whenever you fast [abstain from food for religious reasons] do not be like the hypocrites who put on a sad face, for they disfigure their faces so that the people who see them know they are fasting.  Surely I say to you they have received their payment in full.  17You, when you abstain, rub your head with oil and wash your face, (groom yourself) 18so that it does not appear to other people that your are fasting, but to your Father, the one in secret, sees in secret and will repay you.

19Do not store up for yourselves treasures on the earth where the moth and corrosion wear away and where thieves dig through and steal.  20But store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor corrosion cause things to wear away and where thieves are not digging through to steal.  21Where the treasure is, your heart will be there as well.

22The lamp of the body is the eye.  If the eye is good (and you are generous), the whole body shall be lit up brightly.  23If the eye is bad (and you are stingy), the whole body shall be full of darkness.  If the light in you is darkness, how very dark it is.  24No one is able to be a slave to two masters, for he shall hate one and love the other, or shall support one and despise (the other).  You cannot be a slave to God and wealth [mammon, the unjust accumulation of money].  25Because of this I say to you do not be anxious and troubled about your life, what you will eat or drink, what you will wear.  Isn’t life more than food and clothing?  26Look at the birds of the air, they don’t scatter seed or reap, neither do they gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  You’re more important than they are.  27Who of you by being anxious is able to add to their height one cubit [18”], 28and about clothing why be anxious.  Consider the flowers of the field, they are growing, they don’t work hard, or spin (to weave for clothes)  29I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these.  30If the grass of the field is here today and will be thrown into the clay oven tomorrow, God is able to clothe you, you with little trust.  31Don't be anxious then, saying, what shall we eat or what shall we drink or what clothes shall we wear 32for the people around you are looking for these things.  Your heavenly Father sees and understands that you need all these things.  33Firstly seek out the kingdom and dominion of God and His justice and all these things shall be added to you.  34So don’t be anxious about tomorrow for tomorrow has enough problems of its own.  Today is difficult enough.

7.1Do not judge so that you may not be judged.  2In the same way you pass judgement, you will be judged, tit for tat it will be measured (out) to you.

3Why do you stare at the splinter in the eye of other people, and do not see the great big plank in your own?  4Or how will you say to your people, let me remove the splinter from your eye, and look, there is a great plank in your own?  5You hypocrite, first you remove the plank from your own (eye) and then you will be able to see clearly enough to take out the splinter from the other's eye.

6Do not give to the impure what is holy, and do not throw pearls in front of you for the pigs.  They will trample them under their feet and then turn on you and rip you into pieces.

7Ask and desire and it shall be given to you, look for, and you will find.  Knock and it will be opened.  8Every one who keeps asking and desiring will obtain, and whoever looks for will find, and to those knocking it shall be opened.

9Any of you people, whose son asks for food, they will not give him a stone.  10Or if asking for fish gives him a snake.  11If you then who are hard up give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask Him.  12So then, whatever you would have people do to you, do to them as well.  This is the Torah and the Prophets.

13Come in through the narrow gate; the gate that leads to destruction is wide and many pass through it.  14The gate is narrow and hard pressed that leads to life and the people who find it are few in number.

15Be careful, the false prophets who come to you dressed like sheep, are inside ravenous wolves.  16You will recognise them by the fruit they produce.  Do men gather from thorns or grapes, thistles or figs?  17Therefore, every tree that is good makes good fruit, but the poor quality tree produces poor fruits.  18A good tree is unable to produce poor fruits and neither (can a) poor tree produce good fruits.  19Every tree that does not produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.  20By the fruit they produce you will recognise them.

21Not every one saying to me, Lord, Lord, shall come into the kingdom of heaven, but the one carrying out the desire of my Father in heaven.

22Many will say to me in that Day, [the Day of Judgement], Lord, Lord, didn't we prophesy and speak by divine revelation in your name, [by your authority]?   And didn't we cast out demons in your name and in your name do many miracles?  23And I will say to them openly that I never knew you, get away from me you who are workers of lawlessness.

24Everyone then who hears the words that I say and does them shall be compared to a wise man who builds his house on the rock.  25And the rain came down, the river flooded and the winds blew, and smashed into the house and it did not collapse as it had been founded and made stable on the rock.  26And everyone hearing my words and does not do them shall be compared to a foolish man who builds his house on the sand.  27The rain came down, the river flooded and the winds blew, and smashed into the house and it collapsed and the collapse was great.

28And when he had finished the things he was saying, they were amazed at his teaching.  29He taught them like one with authority and power and not like the Torah teachers.

8.1When he came down from the hillside, he was followed by vast numbers of people, 2and he saw a person with leprosy coming towards him who bowed down to him, saying, master, if you are willing, you are able to restore me and make me clean. 3Stretching out his hand he touched him, saying, I am willing, be cured and immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.  4Yeshua said to him, tell nobody, but go and show yourself to the priest and take with you the sacrifice which Moses commanded as testament to it.

5On entering into K’far-Nachum, he was approached by a centurion of the Roman army, who begged him 6saying, master, my boy at home has become paralysed and is struggling terribly.  7And he said to him, I will come and restore him to health.  8The centurion answered, master, I am not worth you coming under my roof, but you only need to say the word and my boy will be healed.  9I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me, I say to this one go and he is gone and to another come and he comes and to my slave do this, and he does it.  10Yeshua, when he heard this was amazed and said to those following, in all truth, I say to you in all of Israel I have not come across such trust.  11I tell you, many will come from east and west and sit down with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.  12Yet the sons of the kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness and shall cry out and be in utter despair.  13And Yeshua said to the centurion, go, because you believe it will be done for you and the boy was healed at the same time.

14And Yeshua went into Kefa's house, he saw his mother-in-law being out flat and feverish 15and he touched her hand, and the fever left her and she got up and attended to their needs.

16When the evening came, they brought to him, those who were demonised and he drove out the demons with words and the sick people he cured.  17So that the proclamation of Yeshayahu could be realised, saying He received our weakness of life and took away our sickness and disease.

18When Yeshua saw the vast numbers of people around him, he ordered to depart to the other side (of Lake Kinneret) 19and a Torah teacher came to him and said, Rabbi, I will follow you wherever you may go to, 20and Yeshua said to him, the foxes have holes and the birds have places to roost, but the son of man has no where to lay down his head.  21Another apprentice [disciple], said to him, Lord, allow me to first bury my father.  22But Yeshua said to him, follow me. Let the dead bury the dead.

23Stepping onto the boat, his apprentices followed him.  24A great storm rose over the sea, threatening to cover the boat with waves, yet he was asleep.  25They came to him and woke him up saying, master, save us, we're being destroyed.  26And he said to them, you with little trust, why are you frightened?  Then, getting up, he rebuked the winds and the sea and they became calm.  27They were amazed saying, what sort of man is this that the winds and sea do what he commands?

28On coming to the other side of the coast, in the region of Gardarenes.  He was met by two (men) who were demonised, who came from (amongst) the tombstones.  They were savage and fierce and so strong that no one could pass along the path.  29Seeing him they cried, Have you, Son of God, come to torture us before the appointed time.  30Pigs were being grazed at a distance.  31The demons begged him saying, if you are driving us out, send us into the herd of pigs.  32He said to them, Go!, and they came out into the pigs, and suddenly the herd rushed down the cliff into the sea were they died in the water.  33The people grazing the pigs ran away into the city and reported openly, about the ones (who were) demonised.  34The whole city came out to meet Yeshua and seeing him they begged him to leave their coastal area.

9.1Stepping into the boat, they crossed the lake again, over to his own town 2and he saw them bringing to him a paralytic lying down on a reclining couch.  On seeing their trust, Yeshua said to the paralytic, cheer up, your sins are forgiven.  3Seeing this the Torah teachers said amongst themselves, this man speaks blasphemies.  4Yeshua understanding their thoughts said, Why do you think such bad things in your hearts, 5what’s easier to say, be forgiven of your wrongdoing or get up and walk?  6(But) so that you may see that the Son of Man has authority and power on earth to forgive sins, he said to the paralysed person, get up, pick up your couch and go home.  7And he got up and went into his house.  8When the vast numbers saw this, they were awe struck and said a blessing to God, who had given authority and power to men.

9Walking by, Yeshua saw, a man sitting in the tax office whose name was Mattityahu [Matthew], and he said to him follow me and he stood up and followed him.  10And whilst he was reclining at the table in the house, many tax collectors and people engaging in Torah breaking activities were there and sat down with him and his apprentices .  11When the Pharisees saw this, they said to his apprentices, why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and law breaking types?  12Hearing them, he said, the people who are strong don’t need a physician, but those who are ill do.  13But go and learn what it means, I desire mercy not sacrifice: I have not come to call the righteous but sinners.

14Then Yochanan's apprentices came to him saying, why do we and the Pharisees fast, yet your apprentices do not?  15And Yeshua said to them, do the sons of the groom mourn while he is with them? The days will come when the groom shall be taken away and then they shall fast from food and drink.  16No one patches old clothing, with new cloth otherwise the new cloth will rip away and make it worse.  17No one places new wine into old wine skins, otherwise they burst and the wine spills, and the wineskins are destroyed.  They put new wine into new wineskins and both are preserved.

18While talking about these things, someone came who was an official, and bowed down to him saying, my daughter has just died, but come and place your hand on her and she will live.  19And Yeshua got up and followed him as did his apprentices.  20A (ceremonially unclean)  woman who had had a bloody discharge for twelve years approached him from behind and touched the tzittzit [ceremonial tassels] of his clothing, 21for she said to herself, if I only touch his clothing I shall be restored to health.  22Yeshua turned and saw her, and said to her, cheer up daughter, your faith and trust has restored you, and she was restored there and then.  23Coming into the house of the ruler and seeing the flute players, who played at funerals and the mass of people making a noise,  24he said to them, make some room, for the little girl has not died but has gone to sleep and they ridiculed him.  25When the mass of people were removed, he went in and took hold of her by the hand and the girl got up.  26And his fame went all over the land.

27When Yeshua left, he was followed by two blind people calling out, Son of David, be compassionate to us.  28When he came into the house, the blind people came to him, and Yeshua said to them, you believe I am able to do this?  They said to him yes Lord.  29Then he touched their eyes and said your belief and trust has allowed it for you.  30And their eyes were opened, and Yeshua sternly commanded them, see to it you tell no one.  31But throughout the whole land they spread it around.

32As they went out, suddenly they brought to him a person who was demonised, being deaf and unable to talk.  33On casting out the demon, the deaf-mute talked.  The masses were amazed and the vast numbers of people said, it has never been seen like this in Israel.  34Yet the Pharisees  said, in (the power) of the ruler of demons he is casting out demons, 35and he went around the cities and villages teaching in the congregations, proclaiming out loud the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and weakness.

36When he saw the masses, he was filled with compassion for them, because they were troubled, having been thrown around like sheep with no shepherd.  37Then he said to his apprentices, the harvest truly is large, but there are not many who work the land.  38Ask the Lord of the harvest, so that he can send out workers to gather it in.  10.1and calling the twelve apprentices to him, he gave them power and authority to cast out unclean spirits and cure every disease and sickness.

2The names of the twelve. Firstly

Shim'on called Kefa,

Andrew his brother,

Ya'akov [James] son of Zebedee and

Yochanan [John] his brother.

3Philip and

Bar-Talmai [Batholomew],

T'oma [Thomas] and

Mattityahu [Matthew] the tax collector,

Ya'akov [James] and

Taddai [Thaddeus].

4Shim'on [Simon] the Zealot and

Y'hudah [Judas] from K'riot, the one who betrayed him.

5Yeshua commissioned and sent out these twelve as emissaries, commanding them saying, Go out into the land but not amongst the Gentiles or the city of the Samaritans.  6Go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.  7Go and make this declaration, say; the kingdom of heaven is at hand.  8Heal those who are sick, raise those who are dead and cleanse the people with leprosy.  Cast out the demons.

You have received freely, so give freely.  9Do not take or save gold, silver or copper in your money belt.  10Do not take a travel bag, or two coats or sandals or staff for walking.  A worker is worth providing for.  11In whichever city you enter, ask who is worthy and upright and stay (with them) until you leave.  12On coming into the house, greet it with ‘Shalom Alekheim’ [peace be upon you].  13If the house is worthy let your shalom [peace] come into it.  If it is not worthy, let your shalom return to you.

14Whoever does not receive you, or hear your words and listen to what you say, come out of the house or city and shake the dust from your feet.  15For sure I say to you, it will be more bearable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah at the Day of Judgement than that city.

16Look I am sending you out like sheep amongst wolves. Become as wise as serpents and pure as doves.  17Beware of men who will betray you to the Sanhedrin, otherwise they will scourge you in the congregations.  18On account of me, you will be brought before rulers and leaders as a witness to them without the law [Roman rulers].  19Whenever they betray you, do not be anxious about what you will say.  The words will be given to you exactly when you need them.  20It is not you who will speak, but the spirit of your Father speaking in you.

21Brother will betray brother and father child.  Children will stand up against their parents and cause them to be put to death 22and you shall be hated and detested by everyone because of my name, yet the one who remains and endures to the end will be saved.  23When they persecute you in the city, escape to a different one.  In all truth, I say to you, you will not have finished going through the cities of Israel until the son of man comes.

24The apprentice is not above his rabbi [great one], nor is the slave above his master.  25It’s enough for the apprentice that he may become like his rabbi and the slave as the master.  If the master of the house on whom they call is Beelzebub, how much more those who live in the house with him.  26Therefore do not be afraid of them, for nothing is covered which will not be uncovered, (and nothing) hidden that shall not be made known.  27What I say to you in the darkness say in the light and what you hear with your ear, proclaim openly and loudly from the houses flat roofs.  28Do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul.  Instead fear (and stand in awe of) the one able to destroy soul and body in Gey-Hinnom.  29Aren't two small birds sold for an assarium, and not one of them will fall to the ground without (the will of) your Father.  30Yet the hairs on your head have all been numbered.  31Do not be afraid then, little birds are worth less than you.

32Every one then who will declare me publicly in front of people I will declare in front of my Father in heaven.  33Whoever disowns me in front of people, I will disown in front of my Father in heaven.

34Don't suppose I came to bring a state of peace on the land.  I have not come to bring peace but a sword.  35I came to separate people against their fathers, daughters against mothers and daughters in law against mother's in law.  36A persons enemies with be those in their own household.  37Whoever seeks the approval of father or mother above me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me 38and whoever does not take up his execution beam and follow me is not worthy of me.  39The person finding his life will lose it and the one who loses his life because of me shall find it.  40Whoever receives you receives me and the one who commissioned me.  41Whoever receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive the reward of a prophet and the person who receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man will receive his reward.  42Whoever gives a drink of cold water to these little ones because he is a apprentice shall not lose his payment for services rendered.

11.1After Yeshua had finished commanding his twelve apprentices, he sent them out to teach and make proclamations in the towns nearby.

2Whilst Yochanan was in prison he heard about the things Messiah was doing, and sent out some of his own apprentices.  3They said to him, (Yeshua), are you the one to come or should we look forward to someone else, 4And Yeshua answered him and said, return to Yochanan and tell him what you have heard and seen.  5The blind see the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised (to life) and the good news is (being) preached to the poor.  6Blessed and happy is anyone who does not stumble on my account.

7As they left, Yeshua began to talk to the masses about Yochanan, What did you come out into the wilderness to look at; a reed blown around by the wind?  8What did you go to see?  A man in fine clothes?  Only the people in the palaces wear those!  9If not that, then what, a prophet?  I tell you the truth, much more than a prophet!  10This is who the Tanakh says, look, I am sending my envoy before your face, who shall prepare the road in front of you.  11I say to you truthfully, of people born of women, none greater than Yochanan the immerser has stood up, yet even the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he is.  12From the days of Yochanan the immerser until now, the kingdom of heaven has been breaking out and those breaking out take hold of it.  13For all the Prophets and the Torah prophesied until Yochanan 14and if you are able to accept it, he is the Eliyahu who was to come.  15Those with ears should listen.

16What shall I compare this generation to?  It is like children sitting in the market, shouting out to their friends 17saying, we played you the flute and you didn't dance, we played a lamentation and you didn't cry.  18Yochanan came, neither eating nor drinking and they say he has a demon 19the son of man came, who did eat and drink, and they say, look! he eats and drinks wine, a friend of tax collectors and those who do not keep the Torah.  Wisdom is shown by her actions.

20Then he reproached the towns where he had done miracles and displays of power, where they did not turn around and make amends.  21If the miracles and displays of power which were done in Korazin and Bethsaida had been done in Tyre and Sidon they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes, therefore woe to you.  22More than that, I tell you it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the Day of Judgement than for you.  23And you K’far-Nachum will you be lifted to the skies? You shall be brought down.  If the power shown in you were shown in Sodom it would be here now.  24I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom on the Day of Judgement than for you.

25Then, Yeshua said, I thank you Father, Adon [Lord] of heaven and earth that you have hidden these (things) from the wise and educated though reveal and make them known to  children, 26Even so Father, it was good before you.  27Everything has been given by the Father to me, and no one knows the son but the Father.  No-one knows the Father except the son and whoever the son reveals him too.  28Come to me all of you who are tired and weary from work, all who are weighed down and burdened and I will give you rest and refreshment.  29Take up my yoke and understand from me that I am meek and humble in heart and you will find rest for your life.  30My yoke is manageable and weight is light.

12.1Then on Shabbat, Yeshua went through the corn fields and his apprentices were hungry and began to pick off the ears of corn and eat them.  2When the Pharisees saw it, they said to him, look, your apprentices are violating Shabbat.  3But he said to them, Haven’t you read what David did when he and the people with him were hungry?  4How he went into the house of God and ate the bread on the altar which he was no entitled to do as it was for Priest only 5or haven't you read in the Torah that the Priests desecrated Shabbat and yet remain blameless.  6I tell you, (one) greater than the temple is here.  7If you knew the meaning of, I desire mercy not sacrifice; you would not have passed judgement without cause on the blameless.  8For the Son of man is Adon HaShabbat [Lord of Shabbat]  9and he left there and went into their congregations.

10Seeing a man with a withered hand, they asked him, is healing allowed on Shabbat? so they might bring a charge against him.  11But he said to them, shall one of you who has a sheep which falls (into a hole) on Shabbat not grab hold of it and lift it out.  12How much more is a man worth in comparison to a sheep.  Is it therefore permitted to do what is right on Shabbat?  13Then he said to the man, stretch out your hand, and he stretched it out and it was restored, as good as the other.  14Leaving, the Pharisees deliberated against him, how they could bring him down.

15Yet Yeshua understood and left there and masses of people followed him and he healed each one 16and he warned them not to make (his whereabouts) known.  17So that the words of Yeshayahu  the prophet may come to completion saying, 18Look, my servant, who I have chosen, the one I hold dear, in whom my being delights: I will put my spirit on him and he shall judge the nations. 19He shall not bicker or shout out and no one in the streets will hear his voice.  20A bruised reed he will not break and a smouldering wick his shall not extinguish, until in victory he brings forth justice 21and in his name the nations will place their trust.

22They brought to him a demonised person, being blind and unable to speak and he restored him so that he was able to see and hear 23and the masses of people were amazed and said, is this one the Son of David?  24Yet the Pharisees said, this (man) is casting out demons by the (power) of Beelzebub, the prince of demons.

25 Understanding their meaning, he said to them, every kingdom that is divided against itself will be brought to nothing, and every divided house will not remain standing 26and if by the adversary, Satan drives out Satan then he is divided.  How then can his kingdom remain established?  27If I through Beelzebub cast out demons how do your sons drive them out?  They will be your judges.  28Yet if I drive them out by Ruach Elohim, then the kingdom of God has now come to you.  29How is one able to enter the house of the strong man and make off with his goods unless he first ties him up and then he will take all his belongings.

30Those who are not with me are against me and whoever will not gather with me should leave.  31So I say to you, every wrongdoing and blasphemy shall be forgiven, but whoever blasphemes the Spirit shall not be forgiven.  32And whoever says a word against the son of man shall be forgiven, but whoever speaks against Ruach HaKodesh shall not be forgiven in this age or the next.  33Either make a good tree with good fruit, or a bad tree with bad fruit.  (Either way), the tree is known by its fruit.

34Brood of vipers, how can you who are evil speak good things? What is said from the mouth comes from the overflow of the heart.  35The good man takes out of his treasure good things and an evil man, evil things.  36I tell you, every lazy declaration you speak, you will account for on the Day of Judgement.  37By your words you will be pronounced either righteous or condemned.

38Then some of the Torah teachers said, rabbi we want to see a miracle (that sets you apart).  39But he answered them saying, an evil and idolatrous generation looks for signs.  None will be given except for the prophet Yonah [Jonah].  40Just like Yonah was in the stomach of the sea monster for three days and nights, the Son of man will be in the heart of the earth for three days and nights.  41The men of Ninevah will stand up at the Day of Judgement with this generation and shall condemn it, because after hearing Yonah's words they repented.  One greater than Yonah is here!  42The queen of the south will stand up at the Day of Judgement with this generation and condemn it for she came from a great distance to hear the wisdom of Solomon and look there is someone here greater than he.  43When the unclean spirit comes out from a man it passes through the desert looking for rest, though it does not find it 44then it says, I shall go back to the place I came from, and when it gets there it finds it empty, having been cleaned out and redecorated.  45then it goes and takes with it seven different spirits more evil than itself and enters in and makes itself at home, and the man is worse off than before, this is what it will be like for this wicked generation.

46While he was still talking to the masses, his mothers and brothers stood outside looking to have a word with him. 47Someone said to him, look your mother and brothers are outside and want to talk to you.  48But he answered them saying, who is my mother and who are my brothers? 49and he gestured with his hand outstretched towards his students and said, look my mother and brothers.  50Whoever does the desires of my Father in heaven, he is my brother, sister and mother!

13.1At sunrise, Yeshua came out of the house and sat down on the sea shore 2and great numbers of people came towards him, so that he stepped into the boat and sat down whilst the crowds stood on the beach 3and he spoke to them in parables saying, Look, a man came out to scatter seeds 4and when he sowed the seed, some fell by the path where the birds came and ate it.  5other (seed) fell amongst the rocks, where there was not much soil, and straight away it shot up as there was no depth to the soil, 6and when the sun came up it scorched it and because it had no root it withered.  7others fell amongst thorns and the thorns grew up and began to choke them.  8others fell on good soil and produced fruit, hundred, sixty and thirty times (over).  9Those, who have ears, let them hear.

10The apprentices came to him and said, why do you talk to them in parables, 11and he answered them saying, you are allowed to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but not them.  12Whoever has shall be given, and he shall have it with excess, yet whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken away.  13So I speak to them in parables, so that seeing they don’t see and hearing they don’t hear and don’t understand, 14and to them is brought to fulfilment the prophecy of Yeshayahu saying, hearing you will hear and not understand, and seeing you shall see and not perceive.  15The heart of these people has grown fat and dull and their ears have become difficult to hear with, and their eyes are shut, in case at some point they may see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart, and turn around, and I shall heal them and make them whole.  16Your eyes and ears will be happy because they see and hear, 17for sure I say to you that many prophets and righteous people eagerly anticipated what you see and are observing and did not see it, and to hear what they did not hear.  18You then, hear the parable of the man who sows.  19Anyone who hears the words of the kingdom and does not understand it, the wicked one (comes) and snatches that which was sown in his heart.  This is he, who received the seed by the side of the road.  20But he that received the seed like that sown in rocky places, hears the word and receives it with joy 21but he is not rooted in himself, he endures for a while, but when difficulty and tribulation come he stumbles and falls away.  22The one into whom the seed was sown amongst thorns is the one who hears the word and the troubles and anxieties of this age and the seduction of wealth stifle the word and stop it growing and he no longer bears fruit.  23Yet the one who received the seed on good growing land is the one who hears the word and understands it, who also bears fruit, a hundred, sixty and thirty fold.

24Another parable he spoke to them saying, the kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.  25While the man slept, the enemy came and sowed zizanion [a poisonous plant looking like wheat] in the middle of the grain and went on his way.  26when it germinated and fruited, then the zizanion appeared as well.  27so the servants of the house came to the home-owner and said to him, master, didn't you sow good seed in your field?  Were have the zizanion come from?  28He thought out loud to them, an enemy has done this.  Yet the servant said to him, should we go and reap it in.  29but he said no, in case whilst gathering the zizanion you gather the grain as well.  30let them both grow up together until the harvest, I will say to the harvesters first gather the zizanion and tie them up into bundles to burn, but gather the grain into my barn.

31He told them another parable, saying, the kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard which a man sows in his field 32which is indeed the smallest seed but when it is grown it is the biggest of herbs and becomes a tree so that the birds of the air can nest amongst its branches.

33Other parables spoken are like this.  The kingdom of heaven is like yeast which a woman hid amongst three seahs of wheat flour, till the whole lot was fermented.

34Yeshua spoke all these things in parables to the masses and he said nothing to them apart from parables 35so that might be fulfilled that which was declared through the prophet saying, I will open my mouth in parables, I will spit out things that have been kept hidden since the foundations of the world.

36Then he sent the masses away, and went into the house and his apprentices came to him and said, explain to us the parable of the zizanion of the field.  37He answered them and said, the one sowing the good seed is the Son of man, 38the field is this world, the good seed are the children of the kingdom, but the zizanion are the children of the evil one.  39The enemy that sowed them is the adversary.  The harvest is the end of the age, the reapers are the angels.  40Just like the zizanion are gathered for burning in fire, so shall it be at the end of the age.  41The son of man shall send his angels and they shall gather from his kingdom all the stumbling blocks and those who do not keep the Torah 42and they shall cast them into the fiery furnace and there shall be lamenting and utter despair, 43then the righteous one shall shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father.  Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.

44The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field which a man finds, and then hid, and with great joy he went away and sold all he had to buy the field.  45Again the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for good pearls 46who found one worth a great amount.  He went away sold all he had and bought it.  47again the kingdom of heaven is like a net thrown into the sea which gathered up every kind of species 48when it was full, it was pulled to the sea shore and being sat down they collected together into buckets the good, but threw the bad away.

49So this is how it will be at the end of the age, the angels shall go out and separate the wicked from the righteous 50And they shall throw them into the fiery furnace: there shall be lamenting and utter despair.

51Do you understand these things, Yeshua said, and they replied Yes.  52Then he said to them, every Torah teacher who is an apprentice of the kingdom of heaven is like a man who owns a house who brings out his treasure both old and new.

53When Yeshua had finished his parables he left there, 54and coming into his own town he taught in their congregation and amazed them, and (they) said where has this man (got) his wisdom, understanding and dynamic miracle working power?  55Isn't this man the carpenter's son, isn't his mother Miryam and his brothers, Ya’akov, Yosef, Sh’mon and Judah 56and aren't his sisters here, When did this (man) get all the (powers).

57In him they stumbled, but Yeshua said to them, a prophet is only without honour in his own town and house 58and he did not do many powerful acts there because of their lack of trust.

14.1At that time, Herod one of the four rulers [tetrarch] heard the rumours of Yeshua, 2he said to his servants, is this Yochanan the immerser risen from the dead, and because of this, miraculous powers are at work in him.  3For Herod had restrained Yochanan, put him in chains and thrown him in prison for Herodius, his brother Philips wife.  4Yochanan had told him that it violates the Torah for you (to sleep with her and) take her as your wife 5and he would have killed him, but he was afraid of the masses as they held him as a prophet.

6At the celebration of Herod's birthday, his niece, Herodius' daughter danced in front of them and this pleased him 7then he took an oath to her to give her whatever she would ask him for.  8Yet egged on by her mother, she said give me Yochanan the immerser's head on a plate, 9and the leader was filled with sorrow because of the oath but because of the guests he commanded it to be done.  10And he sent (word) and cut off Yochanan's head in prison 11and they took the head on the plate and gave it to the girl and she took it to her mother.

12And his apprentices came and took his corpse and buried it and went and told Yeshua.  13When Yeshua heard this, he left privately in the boat and went to a deserted area and when the masses heard they followed him on foot out of the towns.  14And Yeshua went out, he saw the masses and was moved with compassion for them and healed their sicknesses.

15When evening came his apprentices said to him, we're in the wilderness and it's getting dark now, send the masses away to the villages to buy themselves food.  16But Yeshua said to them, they do not need to leave, give them your food.  17But they said to him, we only have five loaves and two fish 18he said, pick them up and bring them here, 19and telling the masses to sit down on the grass, he took the five loaves and two fishes and looking to the heavens, he invoked a blessing and breaking (them) he gave the apprentices the loaves to give to the masses 20and they all had something to eat and were satisfied, and they picked up what was left of the pieces and there were twelve baskets full.  21The people numbered five thousand men, not counting the women and children.

22He immediately compelled his apprentices to get in the boat and go over to the other side whilst he sent the masses away 23and when he had sent them away; he went up the hillside on his own to pray. When it was late he was the only one there.

24By now the boat was many stadia [200yds] from the shore and was being battered by the waves because the wind was against it.  25In the fourth watch of the night, he came towards them walking on the sea.  26When his apprentices saw him walking on the sea, they were hysterical saying, it's a spirit, and they shouted out loud in complete terror.  27But immediately, Yeshua spoke to them saying, cheer up, it's me, don't be afraid.  28But Kefa answered him, Lord if it's you; order me to come out to you on the water.  29So he said, come!, and stepping down from the boat, Kefa walked on the waters and came towards Yeshua, 30but being aware of the strong wind, he was afraid and began to sink, he cried (out) saying, Lord save me.  31immediately, Yeshua stretched out his hand and took hold of him and said to him, such little trust, why did you waiver, 32and they went up onto the boat and the wind eased.  33The others in the boat bowed down to him saying, you are in all truth the Son of God.

34When they got to the other side they went into the land of Ginosar 35and when they got there the men had already sent for all the sick from the surrounding neighbourhoods 36and they called him so that they could just touch his tzittzit on his cloak, and all those who touched it were restored.  15.1Then some Torah-teachers and Pharisees  from Yerushalayim  came saying, 2why do your apprentices break the tradition of the elders in the oral Torah and not practice the washing of their hands whenever they eat bread.  3but he answered them, Why do you break the commands of God, by (observing) your traditions?  4For God said, honour your father and mother and whoever speaks evil of his parents let them be put to death.  5But you say, whoever says to their father or mother, any profit you may have received from me has been dedicated to the temple 6are released from honouring his father or mother.  You make the command of Torah of no worth because of your traditions!  7You hypocrites, the prophet Yeshayahu spoke about you saying 8this people honour me with their lips, yet their heart is a long way from me.  9They worship me in vain, teaching the teachings of men 10and he called out to the masses, saying, listen and understand, 11it is not what a person eats that makes them unclean, but what comes out of their mouth that defiles them.

12Then his apprentices came to him saying, you understand that the Pharisees who heard your word find it a stumbling block!  13But he answered and said every plant which my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the root.  14Leave them: they are blind guides leading the blind; both will fall into the hole.

15Kefa then answered saying to him, explain to us this parable.  16Then he (Yeshua) said making the point, Don’t you get it! 17Don’t you understand that everything that is eaten and goes into the stomach comes out of the body into the latrine  18But the things that come out of the mouth from the heart make a person unclean, 19for out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, idolatry, theft, false testimony and blasphemies, 20these are the things that make a person unclean, but eating without washing hands does not make a person unclean.

21And Yeshua left there and moved to the coast of Tyre and Sidon 22and he saw a Canaanite woman from nearby.  She shouted to him son of David, be merciful to me, my daughter is being made sick by a demon.  23But he did not answer her with as much as a word and his apprentices asked him send her away for she is following us making a lot of noise.  24But he said, I was not commissioned to go to anyone but the lost sheep of the house of Israel.  25Then she came and bowed down in front of him saying, master, help me.  26He said, it is not good to take the children's food and throw it to the pet dogs.  27She replied, master, even the pet dogs get to eat the scraps that fall from their owners table.  28Yeshua answered and said to her, woman, your trust and faith is massive, it will be for you like you like, and she was restored at that time.

29Yeshua left there and walked on the beach of Lake Kinneret, and he went up the hillside and sat down there, 30and the masses came to him and amongst them the lame, blind and maimed, those who were deaf and unable to speak and many others and they threw them at his feet and he restored them.  31The masses were amazed and wondered (if he was the Messiah), seeing the deaf and dumb talk, the maimed made whole and the lame walking around, the blind could see and they gave glory to the God of Israel.  32Then Yeshua called his apprentices to him and said, I have compassion for the masses, because they have been with me now for three days, and have nothing to eat and I will not send them away hungry in case they collapse on the way (home).  33and his apprentices said to him, where will we get enough bread in the wilderness to feed this lot 34and Yeshua said to them, how many loaves have you got and they said seven and a few little fish.  35He told the masses to sit down on the floor; 36he took the seven loaves and fishes and gave a blessing.  He broke (them) and gave it to the apprentices and the apprentices to the masses 37and they all had something to eat and were filled and the scraps filled up seven large baskets.  38There were four thousand men and besides them women and children.

39Sending the masses away he stepped back onto the boat and came into the region of Magdala.  16.1The Pharisees and Sadducees came to him asking him if he would show them a sign from heaven.  2But he answered them saying, when there's a red sunset you say it will be good weather, 3and if the sky is red in a morning, you say it will be bad weather.  You hypocrites you understand the weather but are unable to understand the signs of the times!  4It’s a wicked and idolatrous generation that looks for signs (as proofs), but there will be no sign given except the sign of Yonah and he left them and departed.

5When they got to the other side, they (realised) they had forgotten to take the bread with them.  6Then Yeshua said to them, watch out and beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.  7They deliberated amongst themselves saying, is this because we forgot the bread?  8Yeshua understood and said, you of little trust, why do you argue amongst yourselves about the bread you forgot.  9Don't you understand or remember how five loaves fed five thousand and how many baskets you had 10or the seven loaves which fed four thousand and how many baskets you had.  11How come you do not understand that I was not talking about bread.  But beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees?  12Then they understood that he was not talking about bread, but the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

13When he arrived in Caesarea Philippi he asked his apprentices, who do the people say the son of man is?  14And they said, some say Yochanan the immerser other say Elijah.  Some others say Yirmeyahu or one of the other prophets.  15He said to them, any one of you, who do you say I am?  16Sh’mon Kefa said, you are the Messiah, son of the living God.

17Yeshua answered, you are happy and blessed Sh’mon son of Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you but my Father in heaven, 18and I say to you that you are Kefa and on this rock I will build my congregation and the gates of death will not overcome it.  19I shall give to you the keys [that is authority] of the kingdom of heaven, and that which you prohibit on earth will be prohibited in heaven and that which you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.  20Then he cautioned his apprentices to tell no one that he is the Messiah.  21From that time, Yeshua began to show his apprentices the necessity of going to Yerushalayim and suffering at the hands of the elders and chief priests and Torah teachers and be killed and on the third day be raised, 22but Kefa took him and began to rebuke him saying far be it from you master, this will not happen to you.  23He turned and said to Kefa, get behind me adversary, you are a stumbling block to me, and you are not thinking of the things of God but of man.

24Then Yeshua said to his apprentices, if anyone wants to follow me let him leave his own self interests, pick up his execution beam and follow me.  25Whoever wants to save their life will lose it and whoever loses their life on my account will find it.  26What does it benefit you if you gain the whole world but lose your life, or what shall a person give in exchange for their life.  27For the Son of man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels and then he shall pay back each person corresponding to their activities.  28For sure and in truth I tell you, some standing here will not taste death until they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

17.1Six days later, Yeshua took Kefa, Ya’akov and Yochanan his brother into the hills by themselves 2and he was transformed before their eyes.  His face shone like the sun and his clothing became as white as light 3and there in front of them, Moses and Elijah spoke with him.  4Kefa said to Yeshua, Lord it is good we are here; if you want I will make three tents, one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.  5While he was talking, the Sh’Kinah of Adonai enveloped them and a sound came out of the cloud saying, this is my most loved Son, in whom I delight, listen to him.  6When the apprentices heard this they prostrated themselves and were extremely awe struck and afraid 7and Yeshua approached them saying stand up and do not be afraid.  8When they stood and looked up they saw no-one except Yeshua.  9They came down from the hillside and Yeshua commanded them to tell no one about what they had seen until the Son of man should rise from amongst the dead.

10His apprentices asked him saying, why do the Torah teachers say that Elijah must of necessity come first.  11Yeshua answered saying, Elijah will most definitely come first and restore everything.  12But I say to you that Elijah has already come and they didn't recognise him; they did what they wanted to him.  The Son of man will also suffer the same.  13Then the apprentices understood that he was speaking about Yochanan the immerser.

14When they approached the masses, a man came and fell on his knees 15saying, master be merciful to my son, he has epilepsy induced by a demon and suffers miserably.  Many times he falls onto the fire and into the water.  16I brought him to your apprentices but they could not restore him.  17Yeshua answered saying, unbelieving and wayward generation, how long will I stay with you, how long must I tolerate you, bring him here to me.  18Yeshua rebuked it and the demon came out from him, and the boy was immediately restored.  19The apprentices came to Yeshua privately and said, why could we not cast it out?  20Yeshua said to them, Because of your lack of faith and trust.  I tell you the truth, if you have faith as (small as) a mustard seed you will say to this mountain, leave here and go there and it shall move.  Nothing shall be impossible for you.  21This type only come out with prayer and fasting!

22While they were in the region of Galil, Yeshua said to them, the Son of man is to be betrayed and delivered into the hands of men, 23and they will kill him and on the third day he will rise and they were extremely unhappy.

24When they came to K’far-Nachum the ones who collect the temple tax came to Kefa and said doesn't your rabbi pay the temple tax?  25and he said yes, and on coming to the house, Yeshua prevented him saying, what do you think Kefa? Who do the leaders of the land get their taxes from, their own sons or strangers?  26Kefa said to him, from strangers.  Yeshua replied, are the children exempt then?  27Either way, we should not offend them.  Go to the sea, throw your hooked line and pick up the first fish, open its mouth and you will find a coin. Give it them for us.

18.1Then the apprentices came to Yeshua impatiently and said, who is greater in the kingdom of heaven.  2And he (Yeshua) called a little child and stood them in their midst, 3and he said, truthfully and for sure I tell you that unless you turn around and become like little children you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.  4Whoever then will humble themselves like this little child will be greatest in the kingdom of heaven, 5and whoever receives a little child in my name receives me.  6But whoever should cause one of them who believes in me to stumble, it will be better for them to have a millstone hung around their neck and be submerged in the depths of the sea.  7Woe to the world because of the traps to sin it sets, but more so the person who sets them.  8If your hand or foot causes you to stumble cut it off and throw it away.  It is better that you enter into life maimed or lame, than be thrown into the fire for eternity with two arms and legs, 9if your eye causes you to stumble rip it out and throw it away, for it will be better for you to enter into life with only one eye than to be cast into the fire of Gey-Hinnom.

10Be careful that you don't think too little of children.  I tell you that in heaven their angels see the face of my Father in heaven.  11For the Son of man has come to save what was lost.  12What do you think?  If a man has a hundred sheep and one strays away from the flock, won't he leave the ninety nine on the hillside and go and look for the one that strayed away 13and if he finds it, I tell you that he will be really happy about that one sheep, more so than the other sheep which were not lost.  14Either way it is not the desire of your Father in heaven that one of these little ones should be lost.  15More than that, if your brother offends you, go and discuss it between yourselves, and if he hears you, you have him won over.  16If he will not listen to you, take with you one or two witnesses so that in the mouth of three witnesses every word may be established.  17If he is unwilling to listen to them tell the congregation and if he will not hear them, treat him like a gentile and a tax collector.  18In all certainty, I say to you, whatever you prohibit on earth shall be prohibited in heaven and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.  19I say to you, in all truth that if two of you (people) ever make an agreement on the earth, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.  20Where two or three are together in my name there I am in the middle of them.

21Then Kefa came to him and said, master, how many times should I forgive the brother who offends me? Up to seven?  22Then Yeshua said to him, I say not seven, but innumerable times.

23So then the kingdom of heaven was compared to a human king who desired to settle his accounts with his servants 24when he started to calculate, one of his debtors was brought to him (who owed him) ten thousand talents (around £5 billion).  25But he did not have enough to pay him. The master ordered he be sold with his wife and children and their belongings to repay the debt.  26The servant fell on his knees reverently and said to him, be patient with me and I will repay it all to you.  27His master was moved with compassion for the servant and he released him, writing off this debt.  28On leaving, the servant found another servant who owed him money, to the value of a hundred denarii’s (around £5 thousand) and grabbing him by the throat he choked him and said, pay me what you owe me.  29Kneeling down his fellow servant begged him and said be patient with me and I will pay what I owe you 30but he would not (allow it), but went and threw him in prison, until his debt was repayed.  31When the other servants saw what had been done, they were upset and explained to their master all that had happened.  32Then the master called him, saying, you wicked servant, everything you owed I wrote off because you begged me  33should you not have had compassion on your fellow servant, like I did for you 34and his master was furious and gave him to the prison’s torturers until he repaid all he owed.  35in the same way, my heavenly Father shall do to you, if you do not forgive every brother from your hearts.

19.1When Yeshua had finished saying these things, he left the Galil region and came to the boundary of Judah on the other side of the Jordan 2and many masses followed him and he restored them there.  3Some Pharisees came to him, testing him (and his scriptural knowledge), saying, is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason.  4He answered saying, Haven’t you read that the creator at the beginning made them male and female 5and He said, for this reason, a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined together to his wife and the two will be one flesh 6so they are no longer two bodies but one flesh, so then, God has united them together, no one should separate them apart.  7They (then) said to him, why then did Moses give us command to give her a ‘get’ letter and send her away.  8He said to them, Because of your stubborn heart, Moses allowed you to divorce your wife, but it was not like this at the beginning.  9I tell you that whoever divorces his wife except for sexual indecency and should remarry is committing adultery.  10His apprentices said to him, is it better then for a man not to marry a woman?  11He said to them, not all can take this in, but only those to whom it has been given.  12Some are born to be single from birth, some are eunuchs because men (removed their ability to have sex) and some choose not to marry for the sake of the kingdom of heaven.  Whoever can take this on should do so.

13Then children were brought to him so that he could place his hands on them, but the apprentices rebuked them.  14But Yeshua said, allow the children and do not stop them coming to me, for the kingdom of heaven is for such (as these) 15and placing his hands on them, he left.

16Seeing someone coming to him, they said, good rabbi, what things shall I have to do to have eternal life?  17and he said to him, why do you call me good?  There is only one good one, but if you want to enter into life, keep the commands.  18And he said to him, which?  Yeshua said, you will not murder, not commit adultery, not steal, not give false witness, 19honour your parents and love your neighbour like yourself.  20and the young man said, I have maintained these since I was a youth, what am I lacking.  21Yeshua said if you want to achieve your goal go away, sell everything you have, give your belongings to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven, and then come and follow me.  22When he heard this, the young man went away upset because he had many possessions.  23Then Yeshua said to his apprentices ,  I tell you in all truth; it is hard for the rich to come into the kingdom of God, 24more than that, I say to you it is easier for a thick rope to pass through a needle's eye than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.  25On hearing this, the apprentices were completely amazed and said, who then is capable of being saved?  26Yeshua looked at them and said, with people this is impossible, but with God everything is possible.  27Then Kefa answered him saying, look, we have left everything to follow you, what shall we get 28and Yeshua answered saying, I tell you faithfully, you who follow me, in the restoration when the son of man sits on his throne of glory, you will sit on twelve thrones and judge the twelve tribes of Israel.  29Every one who leaves homes, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or fields for my name, will receive a hundred times over and will be allotted eternal life.  30Yet many (who) are first will be last, and the last, first.

20.1The kingdom of heaven is like a home owner who came out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard.  2He agreed a price of a denarii [an average days wage]  for the day and sent them into his vineyard.  3At about 9am, he went to the market place and saw some others just standing about 4and he said to them, you can go as well (and work) in the vineyard, and I will pay you what is right.  5So they went.  Later, at around mid-day and (again) at 3pm he did it.  6About 5pm he came out and found some others doing nothing, and (so) he said to them, why have you stood here all day doing nothing?  7They replied, no-one hired us.  So he said you go as well into the vineyard.  8When the evening came, the vineyard owner said to his manager, call the workers and pay them, start with the last, end with the first.  9The people who had been hired at 5pm were paid a denarius each.  10The people, who had been hired first, thought they should receive more, but they got a denarii each.  11When they received (their pay) they muttered and grumbled about the owner  12saying, you have made the people who have worked only one hour our equals when we have worked all day in the scorching heat.  13But he answered to one of them; friend, I have not done anything wrong to you, you agreed with me a denarius 14Take what's yours and go.  The last one will get the same as I give you.  15Isn't it lawful for me to do what I want with my own money, or are you being stingy because I am (doing) what is good.  16So the last will be first and the first last.

17On the way up to Yerushalayim, Yeshua took his apprentices to the roadside and said to them 18Look, we are going up to Yerushalayim and the son of man will be betrayed into the hands of the priests and Torah-teachers and they will condemn him to death 19and they will hand him over to the Gentiles to mock, scourge and nail on an execution beam and on the third day he will stand up.

20Then Ya’akov and Yochanan came with their mother to him, bowing down before him to ask him for something.  21But he said to her what do you want?  She replied; tell me that my two sons will sit at your right and left in your kingdom.  22Yeshua replied, you do not understand what you are asking.  Can you drink from the cup I will drink from?  They said we can.  23He then said to them, You will most certainly drink from the cup I will drink, but to sit at my right and left is not my decision but whoever my Father has made it ready for.  24When the other ten heard this they were furious with the two brothers.  25But Yeshua called them and said, don’t you understand that the rulers of the gentiles lord it over them and the powerful become like dictators.  26It will not be this way with you, for whoever desires to be great must become your servant 27and whoever amongst you desires to be the leader, shall be your servant.  28Just like the son of man came not to be served but to serve and to give his life as redeeming payment for many.

29On leaving Jericho, a mass of people followed him, 30and two blind men were sitting by the roadside when they understood that Yeshua was coming passed.  They cried out, Son of David, have mercy on us.  31But the crowds told them to shut up and be quiet, so they shouted even louder, Son of David, be merciful to us Lord.  32When he heard them shouting to him, Yeshua said, what do you want me to do for you?  33They replied, master, open our eyes.  34Move with compassion for them, Yeshua touched their eyes and immediately their sight was restored, and then they followed him.

21.1As they got closer to Yerushalayim they came to Beit-Pagey on the Mount of Olives, then Yeshua sent out two apprentices 2saying to them go into the village opposite and you will immediately find a donkey and colt tied up with her, untie them and bring them to me 3and if anyone says anything to you, tell them the master needs it, and straight away he sent them away.  4This was done so that the word of the prophet could be filled, saying 5Tell the daughter of Zion, Look; your King is coming to you meek and sitting on an ass and a colt the foal of an ass.  6His apprentices left and did as Yeshua planned.  7They led the donkey and colt away, placing their clothes on them, and he sat on them.

8A great crowd threw down their clothes on the road and others cut branches from the trees and threw them onto the road.  9The crowds led the way in front of him and those who followed behind shouted out deliver us Son of David, blessed is he that comes in the name of YHWH, You in the highest, deliver us.

10When he came into Yerushalayim the entire city was agitated saying who is this?  11The masses said, this is the prophet Yeshua from Natzeret in Galil.

12Yeshua went into the outer temple and threw out all the people buying and selling there, overthrowing the tables of the money changers and the seats of those selling doves 13and he said to them, the Tanakh says, My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves.  14The blind and lame came to him in the temple and he restored them.  15When the chief priests and Torah teachers saw the amazing things he did and the children shouting out in the temple saying, Son of David, deliver us, they were resentful.  16And [they] said to him, Can you hear what they are saying?  But Yeshua said to them haven't you read that out of the mouth of babes and infants you have perfect praise?  17And he left them and came out of the city into Beit-Anyah and lodged there.

18On his way back in the morning to the city, he was hungry 19and seeing a fig tree by the roadside, he looked on it and found nothing but leaves.  No fruit!  So he said to it, may you never bear fruit again, and it immediately withered.  20When his apprentices saw this they were amazed saying, look how soon the fig tree withered.  21Yeshua said to them, in all truth I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you be able to do this to the fig tree, but if you ever say to this mountain, get up and be thrown into the sea, it shall happen 22and as much as you ask for in prayer, believing, you will receive.

23When he came to the temple to teach, the chief priests and elders of the people, said by what authority are you doing these things and who gave it to you?  24Yeshua answered, saying to them, I will ask you one thing and then I will tell you in what authority I do these things.  25The immersion of Yochanan, where was it from, heaven or men?  They discussed it amongst themselves saying, if we say from heaven, he will say to us why didn't we believe him?  26But if we say from men, we should be afraid because the people hold Yochanan to be a prophet.  27Answering Yeshua they said, we do not know.  Neither then will I tell you in which authority I am doing these things.

28What do you think about this, a man had two sons, and coming to the first, he said, go and work today in the vineyard.  29he answered saying, I do not want to. Afterwards he was regretful and went.  30coming to the other son, he said the same.  Answering, he said, Lord I will go, but did not.  31Which of the two does the will of the Father.  They replied, the first.  Yeshua said to them, the tax collectors and idolaters are going into the kingdom of God before you.  32For Yochanan came to you in the paths of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and idolaters believed him, you understood but did not turn around afterwards and believe him.

33listen to another parable!  There was a home owner who planted a vineyard, and a hedge around it, dug a winepress and built a tower and rented it out to farmers whilst he travelled.  34When the fruit season got close, he sent his servants to the farmers to get his fruit 35and the farmers took his servants, beat one, killed one and stoned another 36He sent out more servants, more than before and they did the same to them 37Last of all, he sent his son, saying, they will respect my son.  38when the farmers saw the son, they said amongst themselves this is heir, come on, let's kill him and we shall have the inheritance 39and they caught him, threw him out of the vineyard and killed him 40when the master of the vineyard returns, what will he do to the farmers?  41They answered him; he will horribly kill those horrible men, and rent out his vineyard to farmers who will give him the fruit when it is the right time.

42Yeshua said to them, have you never read in the Tanakh, The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.  This was done by YHWH and it is wonderful in our eyes.  43Because of this, I tell you, that the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a people that will bear her fruit 44and whoever falls on the stone will be broken, but whoever it falls on will be ground down to powder.

45When the chief priests and Pharisees heard his parables, they knew that he was talking about them.  46They considered arresting him and taking him by force, but were afraid of the masses as they considered him a prophet.

22.1Yeshua answered again and told another parable saying, 2The kingdom of heaven is like a king who arranged a marriage for his son, 3and he sent out his servants to call in the people who had been invited into the festivities, but they would not come.  4he sent more servants saying, tell the people who have been invited, look the meal is prepared, my bulls and my fattened animals have been sacrificed and everything is ready, hurry up and come to the wedding 5but they didn't care.  They went away, one to his farm, another to his business.  6The rest, took hold of his servants, treated them badly and killed them.  7The King was furious and sent his soldiers and destroyed the murderers and burned their town down in flames.  8Then he said to his servants, the marriage is ready now, but the people who were invited were not worth it.  9so go out to the roads and find as many as you can and invite them to the marriage celebration.  10So the servants went out along the roads and assembled all who they had found, both the good and bad, and the wedding was filled with people sitting at the banqueting table.  11The king came in to look at the people sat down and he saw a man not dressed for a wedding 12and he said to him, friend, how come you have not come dressed for a wedding?  He was speechless!  13Then the king said to his servants, tie him up, hands and feet and throw him into the darkness outside, (where) there will be lamenting and utter despair 14for many are invited but few are chosen.

15After he had gone, the Pharisees deliberated amongst themselves how they could trap him in (his) words.  16They sent to him their apprentices and some Herodians, and they said, Rabbi, we understand that you are teaching the way of God in truth and you do not care what other's think because you do not go on outward appearances, 17so tell us, what you think?  Does the Torah allow payment of taxes to Caesar or not?  18Knowing their evil intent, Yeshua said to them, why do you try and trap me!  19Show me the coin for the tax! They brought him a denarius 20and he said to them, whose image and inscription is this?  21They said, it's Ceasars!  Then he said to them, pay to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God's.  22When they heard this, they were amazed and left him alone.

23On the same day, some Sadducees , who do not believe in resurrection came to him and asked him a Torah related question 24saying, rabbi; Moses said if a man dies without children, his brother shall marry his wife and have children to preserve the family line.  25There were seven brothers and the first got married and died, and having no children left his wife to his brother 26the same happened to the second and third until the seventh, 27finally, the woman died.  28in the resurrection then, whose wife will she be as they all had her.  29Yeshua answered them and said, you've missed it, you don’t understand the Tanakh or the power of God.   30in the resurrection, (people) will neither marry or be given in marriage but will be like the angels in heaven 31About the resurrection of the dead, haven't you read what God said to you 32I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.  He is not the God of the dead but the living.  33When the masses heard this they were amazed at his teaching.

34When the Pharisees heard that Yeshua had silenced the Sadducees, they met together.  35One of them who was a Torah expert, asked him a Torah question to scrutinise Him, (saying) 36Rabbi, what is the most important command in the Torah, 37Yeshua said to him, You shall love YHWH your God with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your mind, 38This is the first and greatest command.  39The second is like it, You shall love your neighbour as yourself.  40The Torah and the Prophets hang on these two commands.  41While the Pharisees were gathered together, Yeshua asked them 42What do you think about the Messiah, whose son is he?  They answered him, David's, 43He said, why is it then, that David inspired by the Spirit, called him Adonai, saying, 44YHWH said to my Adon [Lord], sit at my right hand until I place your enemies under your feet?  45If David then calls him Adonai, how can he be his son?  46no one was able to answer him with as much as a word, and from that time no one dared ask further questions.

23.1Then Yeshua spoke to the masses and his apprentices, 2saying, the Torah teachers and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat.  3All of you then, if they say to you do this, do it, but do not be like them, because they say things and do not do them.  4They tie heavy loads that are difficult to carry on the shoulders of men, but do not lift a finger to help them.  5All they do is done so that men can see it; they widen their t'fillin [phylacteries] and enlarge the border of their tzitzyot [hem symbols of cord].  6They enjoy being first for sitting at meals and having front seats in the congregation so they can have the pre-eminence, 7and greetings in the marketplace where people call them Rabbi.  8But you, do not be called Rabbi (that is great one), because you have a great one, and you are all brothers.  9Do not call anyone on earth father; you have one father in heaven 10and do not be called 'leader', your leader is Messiah.  11The greatest of you will be your servant.  12whoever promotes himself shall be brought down and whoever humbles himself shall be promoted.

13Woe to you Torah teachers and Pharisees, you lock away the kingdom of heaven from the faces of people.  You do not enter and you do not let others enter in either.  14Woe to you, Torah teachers and Pharisees, you take away widow's houses, and for looking good, you make long prayers.  Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.

15Woe to you Torah teachers and Pharisees, hypocrites, you go across land and sea to make a single proselyte and when he becomes like you, you make him twice the son of Gey-Hinnom than yourself.

16Woe to you blind guides who say, whoever swears by the temple is not bound, but whoever swears by the gold in the temple is bound.  17You blind fools, which is greater, the gold, or the temple which consecrates the gold 18and whoever makes an oath on the altar is not bound, but whoever takes an oath on the sacrifice on the altar, is bound.  19are you blind! Which is more important, the sacrifice, or the altar which consecrates the sacrifice?  20Whoever then who takes an oath on the altar, takes an oath on everything placed on it, 21and whoever takes an oath on the temple, takes an oath by the One who lives there, 22and the person that takes swears an oath by heaven, takes his oath on God's throne and Him who sits on it.

23Woe to you Torah teachers and Pharisees, you hypocrites, you pay your tenth of mint, dill and cumin but leave out the more important matters of the Torah; judgement, mercy and faith. You should have done the first without overlooking the second.  24Blind guides, you strain out gnats but swallow a camel.

25Woe to you Torah teachers and Pharisees you hypocrites, you clean the outside of the cup and plate, but inside are full of greed and excess.  26You blind Pharisees, first clean the inside of the cup and the outside will be clean as well.

27Woe to you Torah teachers and Pharisees, you hypocrites, you are like white washed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but inside are full of the bones of the dead and all kinds of unclean things.  28You appear righteous, but inside you’re full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

29Woe to you, Torah teachers and Pharisees, you hypocrites, you build tombs for the prophets and decorate the tombs of the righteous, 30and you say, if we had been around in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part in killing the prophets.  31So you witness against yourselves that you are the descendents of those who murdered the prophets, 32so go, and finish what your fathers began.

33You snakes, sons of vipers, how can you escape from the judgement of Gey-Hinnom.  34Because of this, look, I am sending you prophets and wise men and Torah teachers: some of them you will kill, some crucify and some flog in your congregations, from city to city 35On you shall be the blood of the righteous people whose blood was spilled on the ground, from Abel the righteous, to Zechariah son of Berechiah who was killed within the temple.  36For sure I tell you; all these things shall come upon this generation.  37Yerushalayim, Yerushalayim, you who killed the prophets and stoned them who were sent to you.  How often I desired to bring your children together, like a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you would not have it.  38Look, your house is desolate.  39I tell you, you will not see me again, until you say, blessed is he who comes in the name of YHWH.

24.1Yeshua came out and left the temple.  His apprentices came to him to show him the temple buildings, 2but Yeshua answered them saying, you see all these? I am telling you the truth, there will not be one stone left on another; they will all be brought down.

3As he sat on the Mount of Olives, his apprentices came privately, saying, tell us when this will happen and what will be the sign of your return and the end of the age 4and answering them, Yeshua said, be careful that no one leads you astray 5for many will come in my name, saying, I am the anointed [Messiah], and will lead many astray.  6you will hear of wars and rumours of wars see that you are not frightened.  These things must happen, but this is not the end.  7for ethnic group will stand against ethnic group and nation state against nation state: and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.  8All these are the beginning of birth-pains.  9then they will hand you over to be persecuted and will kill you and you will be hated by all nations because of my name 10and many will be tricked into betraying and hating one another 11and many false prophets will stand up and lead many people astray.  12the love of many will grow cold because they have moved ever further from the Torah, 13but whoever stands firm to the end will be delivered.  14and this good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the earth as a witness to the gentiles.  Then the end will come.  15So when you see in the holy place, the abomination that causes desolation, which was spoken through the prophet Daniel, let the reader understand 16the people of Judah should run for the hills.  17The person on his roof should not come down to collect his goods 18and the person in the field should not go back and fetch his cloak.  19Woe to those who are pregnant or have little children in those days.  20Pray that your escape is not on Shabbat or in winter.  21For then there will be great distress, not seen since the beginning of the cosmos and nothing will be seen like it again 22and if those days were not shortened, no one would be delivered, but for the sake of the chosen, the days will be cut short.  23So if anyone says to you, look Messiah is here, do not believe it.  24False Messiah’s and prophets will stand up and will display supernatural signs and wonders which would deceive the chosen ones if possible.  25Look, I have told you in advance.  26So if they ever say to you, look, he’s in the desert, don’t go, or look, he’s in a secret room, don’t believe it.  27Just like lightening flashes in the east and is seen in the west, this is how is will be when the Son of man returns.  28Where there’s a dead body the vultures will gather.  29Immediately after the suffering of those days, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.  30Then the sign of the son of man will appear in the sky and all the nations of the lands will mourn, and they will see the son of man coming on the clouds of the sky in majestic power, 31and he will send his messengers, with a loud shofar blast; his chosen people will be brought together from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

32Learn a parable from this fig tree:  When its branches are soft and leaves sprout out, you know the summer is coming.  33so you, when you see all these things, understand that he is near, at the door (so to speak) 34For sure I tell you, this age will not pass until all these things have happened 35Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will not.  36But the day and hour, no-one knows, neither the angels in heaven, or the son, but only the Father.  37when the Son of man returns, it will be just like it was when Noah was alive.  38in the days before the flood, people ate and drank, married and were given in marriage right up until Noach entered the ark.  39They did not understand until the flood came and took them away.  This is what it will be like at the return of the son of man.  40Two will be in the field, one taken and one left.  41two will be grinding in the mill; one will be taken and one left.  42Watch out then because you do not know the day your master will return.  43Know this, if the home-owner knew the time of night the thief was coming, he would watch out to make sure his house was not broken into.  44Because of this, you should be ready as you do not know the hour the Son of man will come.  45Who then is the faithful and wise servant, who the master has placed in charge of the house, to give them food at the right time?  46Blessed and happy is the servant that the master finds doing this when he returns.  47I say to you, he will make him ruler over all he owns, 48but if that evil servant, says in his heart, my master is taking his time 49and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with drunks and gluttons.  50The master will arrive on a day which he did not hope for and an hour he was not expecting 51and he will chop him up and his place will be with the hypocrites were there will be lamenting and utter despair.

25.1The kingdom of heaven can be compared to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.  2five of them were foolish, five were wise.  3the foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil.  4but the wise ones took flasks of oil with their lamps.  5Because the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep.  6in the middle of the night, there was a cry, the bridegroom was coming so they went out to meet him, 7so the virgins got up and got their lamps ready.  8the foolish said to the wise, give us some of your oil for our lamps as they are going out.  9the wise ones said, no otherwise there will not be enough for us.  Go to the traders and buy some for yourselves.  10While they were away shopping, the bridegroom came back.  The wise virgins that were ready entered with him to the marriage celebration, and then the door was locked.  11Later, the rest of the virgins returned saying, master, master, open the door up to us.  12But he answered, in all certainty I say to you, I do not know you.  13Watch out then, because you do not know the day or the hour!

14it is like a man going on his travels.  He called his own servants and gave them his belongings.  15to one servant he gave five talents, to another two and to another one depending on their ability, and then he went on his trip.  16after he had gone, the one with five talents, set it to work, trading and he made five more.  17the one who was given two did like the first and gained two more.  18but the one who received a single talent went away dug a whole in the ground and hid the silver of his master.  19after a long time, the master of the servants returned and settled his accounts with them.  20the one who was given five talents brought to him five more saying, master you gave me five, look here are five more talents.  21His master said to him, well done good and faithful servant, you have been faithful in a little, I will put you in charge of a lot: come and share in your master’s joy and pleasure.  22the one who had received two talents came to him and said, master, here are the two talents you gave me, and look here are two more which I gained.  23his master said to him, well done good and faithful servant, you have been faithful in a little, I will put you in charge of a lot: come and share in your master’s joy and pleasure.  24the one who had been given one talent came to him and said, master, I know you’re a hard man, reaping where you did not sow and gathering where you didn’t scatter 25and being afraid, I went away and hid the talent you gave me in the earth, look have your money.  26The master answered him, saying, wicked and lazy servant, you understood that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I did not scatter.  27you should have given the silver to the bankers and then when I returned I could have had my money with interest.  28take away from him the talent and give it to the one with ten talents.  29the one who has will be given more and he shall have excess, but the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away, 30and throw the useless servant out into the outer darkness where there will be lamenting and utmost despair.

31When the son of man comes in all his glory and his angels with him, then he will sit on his throne of glory  32and he will gather before him all the nations and will separate them from one another, like the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, 33and he will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.  34then the king will declare to the ones on his right. Come here, blessed of my Father enjoy the kingdom prepared for you from before the foundation of the earth.  35for I was hungry and you gave me something to eat and I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink: I was a naked stranger and you took me in 36sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.  37then the righteous answered him saying, Master, when were you hungry and we fed you; or thirsting and we gave you something to drink.  38when were you a stranger and we took you in or naked and clothed you.  39When were you sick or in prison and we came to you?  40and the King answered declaring; I say in all truth to you, in as much as you did it to the least of my brothers, you did it to me.  41then he shall declare to the ones on his left, go away from me, you cursed ones into the eternal fire that was prepared for the devil and his angels, 42for I was hungry and you did not give me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you didn’t take me in, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.  44then they will answer him as well, saying, master, When did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger, or naked or sick or in prison and didn’t serve you?  45then he will answer them saying, in all truth, as much as you have not done it to the least of my brothers, neither have you done it to me, 46and they shall go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.  26.1and when Yeshua finished saying all these things, he said to his apprentices , 2you know that the in two days it will be Pesach [pasover] and the Son of man is to be handed over and nailed to an execution beam.   3then the head priests and elders of the people gathered together in the courtyard of priest hagadol, whose name was Kayafa 4and they conspired how they could subtly arrest Yeshua and kill him, 5but they said, not during the festival otherwise the people will riot.

6When Yeshua was in the home of Sh’mon the leper [possibly potter], which was in Beit-Anyah, 7a woman came to him with an alabaster vase containing very expensive perfume, and she poured it down over his head while he sat at the table.  8when his apprentices saw this, they were annoyed, saying, what a waste, 9this perfume could have been sold for a lot and (the money) given to the poor.  10But when Yeshua understood, he said to them, Why are you giving the woman grief, the thing she has done to me is good.  11you will always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me.  12when she poured this perfume over my body, she was preparing it for burial.  13In all truth I say to you faithfully, wherever the good news is proclaimed in the whole world, this will be spoken as a reminder to her.

14Then one of the twelve, Y’hudah from K’riot went to the head priests 15and said to them, what will you give to me if I hand him over to you.  (they) weighed (out) to him thirty (pieces of) silver  16and from that time, he looked for an opportunity to hand him over 17On the first day of mitzvah (unleavened bread), Yeshua’s apprentices came to him saying, where do you want us to prepare to eat the Pesach.  18and he said, go into the city to so and so and say to him, the Rabbi says, my time is nearly here, me and my apprentices are celebrating Pesach, 19and the apprentices did what Yeshua directed them and arranged the Pesach.

20When the evening came, he sat down at the table with the twelve, 21and as they ate, he said, in all truth, I tell you that one of you will hand me over, 22and they were very upset, each one saying to him, is it me master?  23and he answered and said, the one immersing his hand in the dish with me, this one will hand me over.  24Indeed, the Son of man is going to die as the Tanakh says about him.  But woe to the man through who the Son of man is handed over, it would be better if he had not been born.  25Judah, the one who handed him over, said to him, Rabbi, is it me?  And he said to him you said it.  26While they were still eating, Yeshua took the matzah, gave a Blessing and broke it, giving it to his apprentices saying, take, eat, this is my body.  27and taking the cup, gave the blessing and gave it to them all, saying, drink from it, 28for this is my blood of the covenant, poured out for many for the freedom and forgiveness of sins.  29In all certainty I tell you, from now till I drink with you anew in the Kingdom of my Father, I will not drink wine.  30and they sang the Hallel and went out to the Mount of Olives.

31Then Yeshua said to them, this night all of you will stumble because of me, as the Tanakh says, I will strike the shepherd and the flock of sheep will be scattered, 32But after I have stood up [from the dead], I will go into the Galil before you.  33Kefa answered and said to him, if everyone else stumbles because of you, I won’t stumble.  34Yeshua said to him, in all certainty, I tell you that tonight, before the cock crows three times, you will disown me.  35Kefa replied, saying, if they tie me to you and we die together, I will not renounce you, and all the other apprentices agreed.

36Then Yeshua came with them into a piece of land called Gat-Sh’manim [Gethsemane], and said to his apprentices , sit down, while I go there to pray 37and taking with him Kefa and Zebedee’s two sons, he began to become upset and distressed, 38then he said to them, my heart is saddened to death.  Stay here and watch out with me.  39and he went a little further on, and fell on his face, praying, and saying, my Father, if possible let this cup pass [away] from me, but not as I would like, but you.  40and coming to his apprentices, he found them asleep and he said to Kefa, aren’t you strong [enough] to watch out one hour with me?  41Watch out and pray so that you’re not tested: for sure the spirit is eager, but the body is weak.  42he went away a second time, and prayed, saying, my Father, if this is not able to pass me by  without me drinking it, then let your will be done.  43and he returned and found them all falling asleep with heavy eyes.  44and he left them again, and prayed a third time, saying the same words again, 45then, he came to his apprentices  and said to them, go to sleep now and get some rest because the hour is nearly here when the son of man will be handed into the hands of sinners.  46Stand up and let’s go.  Look the one who betrays me is here.  47and while he was talking, Y’hudah, one of the twelve came with a mass of people from the chief priests and elders of the people with swords and clubs, 48but the one who handed him over gave them a sign saying, whoever I kiss, he is the one you need to hold 49and he immediately approached Yeshua saying, greetings Rabbi, and kissed him.  50Yeshua said to him, friend, why are you here?  Then they approached, grabbed hold of Yeshua and took him 51and suddenly, one of the ones with Yeshua, stretched out his hand, pulled out his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear 52then Yeshua said to him put your sword back in its place: whoever takes up the sword, will die by the sword.  53do you suppose that I am not able to call to my Father and he will immediately send to me twelve legions of angels?  54how then will the Tanakh come to fruition, this must happen.   55immediately, Yeshua said to the crowd, you come out as though I was a robber with swords and clubs to arrest me, but today I was sat in the temple and you did not arrest me, 56but this has all been done to bring to fruition the writings of the Prophets.  Then his apprentices left him and ran away.

57but the ones having taken hold of Yeshua led him away to Kayafa the high priest, where the Torah teachers and elders were gathered.  58Kefa followed him from a distance; till they got to the courtyard of the high priest and coming in he sat with the servants to see the conclusion.  59the chief priests and all the Sanhedrin looked for false testimony against Yeshua so that they could put him to death 60though they could not find any even though there were many liars.  61afterwards, they found two who said, this [man] said I am able to demolish the temple of God and three days later rebuild it, 62and standing up, the high priest said to him, have you nothing to answer against what they testify against you.  63but Yeshua was silent and the high priest said to him I command you by the living God that you tell us if you are Messiah, the Son of God.  64Yeshua said to him, you said it, and what’s more I tell you, you will see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of power and coming on the clouds of heaven.  65then the high priest tore his clothes and said, he speaks blasphemies, what further need do we have for witnesses now we have heard this blasphemy.  66What do you think?  They answered, he is guilty of death.  67then they spat in his face and hit him with their fists and some slapped him, 68saying, prophecy to us Messiah, who is hitting you.  69But Kefa sat outside in the courtyard and a female servant approached him, saying, you were also with Yeshua the Galilean.  70Yet he disowned him in front of them all saying, I don’t understand what you’re speaking about.

71When he went out, he stood by the doorway, and another female servant saw him and she said to the people present, this one was with Yeshua of Natzeret, 72and again he swore he did not know the man.  73after a little time, one of the people who was stood up, approached Kefa and said, in all truth, you are also one of them because you speak like him, 74then he began to curse and swear that he did not know the man, and immediately the cockerel crowed, 75and Kefa was reminded of the word of Yeshua which he had said to him that before the cock crows three times, you will renounce me and he went out and cried bitterly.

27.1When the morning came, all of the head priests and elders of the people came together to deliberate as to how they could put Yeshua to death. 2and binding him, they led him away and delivered him to Pilate the governor.

3Y’hudah, who betrayed him, then understood that he [Yeshua] was condemned and was extremely remorseful.  He returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders 4saying, I have sinned and betrayed innocent blood, but they said, what’s that to us. You deal with it!  5and throwing the silver into the temple, he left and hung himself.  6the chief priests took the silver and said, it is not allowed for us to put it into the treasury as it is blood money.  7they consulted and purchased the potter’s field to bury foreigners 8that field is called the field of blood to this day.  9then the words spoken through the prophet Yirmeyahu came to fulfilment saying, and they took the thirty silvers, the price the sons of Israel valued him 10and they gave them the potter’s field as the Lord directed.

11Yeshua was standing in front of the governor, and the governor asked him, are you the king of the Jews?  But Yeshua answered, you said it, 12and when the chief priests and elders accused him, he said nothing.  13Then Pilate said to him, can’t you hear how much they testify against you 14and he did not answer at all; so that the governor was amazed.

15it was the custom at the festival for the governor to release a prisoner to the people, whoever they wanted 16at that time, they had a notorious prisoner called Yeshua-Bar-Abbas.  17When they had congregated, Pilate said to them, which will I release to you, Yeshua-Bar-Abbas or Yeshua, called Messiah? 18for he knew that they had delivered him due to jealousy.  19Sitting down on the judgement seat, his wife sent word.  She said, have nothing to do with that righteous man because I have experienced a dream today because of him, 20but the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds that they should ask for Bar-Abbas and kill Yeshua.  21But the governor answered them saying, which of the two should I release to you, and they said Bar-Abbas.  22Pilate then said to them, what then should I do with Yeshua called Messiah, and they said, crucify.  23Speaking out, he said to them, what evil has he done?, but they cried out all the more, crucify.  24Pilate understood that it was not getting better, but rather a riot was about to break out.  Getting some water, he washed his hands in front of the crowd saying, I am innocent of this man’s blood, you see to it.  25and all the people answered saying, his blood be on us and our children.  26Then he released to them Bar-Abbas, but Yeshua was whipped with a flagellum and then handed over to be crucified.

27Then the governor’s soldiers took Yeshua into the praetorium and the whole squadron congregated, 28and they stripped him naked and placed on him a scarlet cloak, 29and they braided a crown of thorns and placed it on his head, and placed a stick in his right hand and bowed down in front of him, mocking him, saying, hail king of the Jews.  30and they spat on him, took the stick and beat him repeatedly around the head, 31and when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the military cloak and placed his own clothes on him and led him away to be crucified.

32Coming out, they found a man from Cyrene named Sh’mon and conscripted him to carry the execution beam for him, 33and when they came to the place called Golgotha, (which is ‘skull place’) 34they gave him a drink of wine mixed with bitter gall (painkiller) and after tasting it, he would not drink it.  35crucifying him, they divided his clothes and cast lots 36and they sat down and kept guard.  37and they placed above his head the written reason; this is Yeshua the King of the Jews.  38They crucified with him two robbers, one on either side of him 39the passers by insulted him, shaking their heads 40and saying, tear down the temple and rebuild it in three days – save yourself if you’re the son of God and come down from the stake.  41the chief priests, torah teachers and elders mocked him saying, 42he saved others, but can’t save himself, if you’re the King of Israel, come down now from the stake and we will believe you 43he has confidence in God, let God rescue him if he wills it, after all, he said I am the Son of God, 44even the robbers who were crucified with him joined in with them to insult him 45from noon until 3pm, darkness came over all the land 46about 3pm, Yeshua cried out loudly,’eli eli lema sabacthani’, that is ‘my God, my God, why have you forsaken me’.  47some of them that stood there said, He is summoning Elijah.  48straight away, one of them ran and got a sponge, soaking it with sour wine and placing it on a stick offered him a drink, 49the rest said, leave it, lets see if Elijah comes to save him.  50Then Yeshua cried out in a loud voice, and gave up the spirit.  51Suddenly, the curtain of the temple was ripped from top to bottom in two and there was an earthquake and the rocks split 52and the tombs were opened and many bodies of dead saints got up 53and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection entered into the holy city and appeared too many.  54When the centurion and the ones with him guarding Yeshua saw the quake they were greatly amazed saying, this truly was the Son of God.  55From a distance, many women watched who had followed Yeshua from the Galil and had ministered to him 56among them was Miryam from Magdala and Miryam the mother of Ya’akov and Yosef and the mother of Zebedee’s children.

57When the evening came, a rich man from Arimathea named Yosef who was a apprentice of Yeshua came.  58He approached Pilate and begged the body of Yeshua.  Then Pilate commanded it be given back.  59and getting the body, Yosef wrapped it in clean linen 60and laid it into his new tomb which he had dug out of the rock and he rolled a great big stone over the entrance to the tomb.  Then he left.

61Miryam from Magdala and the other Miryam (were) sitting in front of the tomb.  62the next day, which was the day after the day of preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees congregated to see Pilate 63saying, sir, we remember that the deceiver said while he was alive, after three days I will rise again 64so command the tomb be secured until the third day in case the apprentices steal the body and say to the people he has risen from the dead, then the last deception will be worse than the first.  65Pilate said to the custodian, go and secure it as best you know how to 66so they went and secured the tomb, sealing the stone and setting a guard

28.1After the Shabbats as it began to draw near to the first day of the week, Miryam from Magdala and the other Miryam came to look at the tomb.  2suddenly, there was a great earthquake and an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and approached [the tomb] and rolled away the stone and sat on top of it.  3his face appeared to shine brightly and his clothing was as white as snow 4and the guards shook with fear because of him and became like dead (men).  5the angel answered saying to the women, don’t be frightened, because I know you are looking for Yeshua who was crucified 6he is not here as he has risen like he said he would, come here and look at the place where he was laid.  7Now go quickly and tell his apprentices that he has risen from the dead and see that he has gone before you into the Galil and you will see him there.  Remember what I said to you.  8and they quickly left the tomb with great joy and ran to the apprentices to announce the message.  9Suddenly Yeshua met them saying, ‘be happy’ and they grabbed his feet and fell down and worshipped him.  10Then Yeshua said to them, do not be frightened, but go and announce to my brothers that they should go into the Galil and they will see me there.  11while they were on their way, the guards came into the city and told the chief priests everything that had happened 12and the elders congregated with them and deliberated, and gave a large sum of silver to the soldiers, 13saying say the apprentices came at night and stole the body while we slept 14and if the governor ever hears about this, we will persuade him, so do not be concerned 15so they took the money and did as they were told, and this was commonly reported among the Jews even to this day.

16then the eleven apprentices went into the Galil to the hillside which Yeshua had arranged with them 17and when they saw him, they fell on the ground and worshipped him, but some had doubts 18and Yeshua came and spoke to them saying, all authority has been given in heaven and on earth to me, so 19as you go, make apprentices of all nations, immersing them into the namely authority of the Father, the Son and Ruach HaKodesh, 20teaching them to keep all I have directed you, and look, I am with you all the time, until the consummation of this age.
